Nikon Coolpix P2
I bought this one via Amazon.de to implement PTP/IP over WLAN support.
You might consider me crazy to buy a camera for just that, but someone
needs to implement it.
I added PTP/IP support to libgphoto2 now, still disabled. A problem
here is that the Nikon uses special PTP commands (over USB) to configure
the camera, which I have not fully done yet.
My PTP/IP protocol notes, reverse engineered
from network traces, and some random PDFs from the net.
- Uses its own rechargable battery.
- 3x Optical Zoom.
- Uses SD cards.
- 5 Megapixels in JPEG format, also records video.
- Uses the 'ptp2' driver in gphoto (or USB Mass Storage). Supports download, deletion
and capture image over USB, download and deletion over PTP/IP.
- Nicely remote controllable capture mode, but only via USB.
- My first PTP/IP camera. Supports only download, delete, and some configuration in this mode.
No capture, which was disappointing.
